    Hej from Sweden !

You can feel their uncertainty as they look around the new city. I can just imagine what they are thinking.
Thank you for visiting my blog and liking a recent post. I’m afraid my photos are quite inferior when compared to yours.
Welcome back for my stories if you like.

Great shot and well handled all the way around. Super composition. This family looks like they could be disembarking at Ellis Island or someplace similar.

Thank you! I had the same association when I worked on the photograph: Arrival at Ellis Island! Thanks v much for sharing your thoughts, Kongo!

Wow, you really captured the awe and excitement in their expressions. Very sweet and powerful image, Canary, as usual.

    Bonjour Petite oiseau

As political comment it is an enormously persuasive piece of work. As art it is stunningly beautiful and should be in a place for all the world to see.

You have made me cry again

      Bonjour Dan,

What an incredibly positive feedback to give! Thank you very much. I lack the words to respond to it adequately, but I very much appreciate your comment and I am glad to hear that you were moved by the arrival scene as well.

      Sincerely yours, Canary

Great capture and effect. What did you use?

    • September 8, 2013

Thank you! I used Adobe Camera Raw (and played around with ‘clarity’, ‘light’, ‘darks’ and ‘highlights’ a bit).

Looks like they are from another planet. A family where the panic for the new makes them afraid . Almost a little Hitchcock over the image. Greta picture.

Now that you are mentioning it and with the right soundtrack in mind… I can see how you get that Hitchcock feel ;). And, yeah, the B&W helps, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Oh thank you! It’s very nice to receive such positive feedback. This one was a bit of a lucky strike… I found the scene very intriguing.
