in words, sights and sounds

This is not a new song but little expat me just discovered it a few days ago. Here’s to those people in our lives who make being temporarily stuck in dull places so much more bearable. I know what I am talking about : ) And, no, I am not stuck in Frankfurt Oder.

Cheers!

For those of you who are interested in the lyrics of this little pop song, here you go:

Frankfurt Oder

Nothing’s better than spending the winter with you
Some fly down south to keep warm
But we don’t have the cash for it and you are afraid of flying
We'll visit your parents
In Frankfurt Oder – Frankfurt Oder

And then we sit here in the garden pavilion
What you’re telling me keeps me sober and warm
Up in the sky, the clouds are raining
I’m glad that you’re here
Glad that you’re here

We're sitting here in the garden pavilion
To me, it never mattered where we were
We go through the schnapps of your father
I’m glad that it's here
Glad that you’re here

Nothing’s better than hitting the road with you,
To the dullest places and have you with me

To see that we are doing alright, to see that we’re good
With potato schnapps and bockwurst –
Between the garden gnomes

And then we sit here in the garden pavilion
What you’re telling me keeps me sober and warm
Up in the sky, the clouds are raining
I’m glad that you’re here
Glad that you’re here

We’re sitting here in the garden pavilion
To me, it never mattered where we were
And we’re 'killing' the schnapps of your father
I’m glad that it's here
Glad that you’re here

I’m glad that you’re here
I’m glad that you’re here
I’m glad that you’re here

And then we sit here in the garden pavilion
What you’re telling me keeps me sober and warm
Up in the sky, the clouds are raining
I’m glad that you’re here
Glad that you’re here

We’re sitting here in the garden pavilion
To me, it never mattered where we go
And we’re 'killing' the schnapps of your father
I’m glad that it's here
Glad that you’re here

I’m glad that you’re here
I’m glad that you’re here – we’re sitting here
I’m glad that you’re here – in the garden pavilion
I’m glad that you’re here - we’re sitting here

I’m glad that you’re here
In Frankfurt Oder –
I’m glad that you’re here
I’m glad that you’re here
With me – in Frankfurt Oder
