Very nice. The reflection in her glasses really makes this photo special. Of course I like reflections. You’ve got so much detail in this that you can see the animal hairs on her sweater. This photo seems to have greater tonal richness than some of your others.
Thanks, Tim. I agree with you on the greater tonal richness of Ms. Bumblebee and the lack thereof in some of my other pictures. This was on an overcast day – less direct sunlight helps in this regard. Needless to say, it also depends on the color of skin, clothes and background.
Yes, on the skin tones. You may have seen the photo Pizza Cook in my home page slide show. It took quite a while to get the setting right in the camera and then the tones right in post production. I find myself thinking in colors. I’ll have to at some point look into b&w in more detail. I’m working with someone on cyanotype. There I have to think in the tonal register. Challenging.
