Great series! The third one is particularly memorizing, very well done.

I happen to live about 20 minutes away from the Getty Center in Los Angeles. I have gone there several times to ‘talk’ to my friends like Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Degas and Renoir. I lovingly refer to it as my church. I have always known that the unusual, ugly and even obscene can be seen and made into something profound. Although your subjects are harsh, they are also beautiful. I think I would be offended if you posted ‘cutesy’ imagines. The roughness of life is far more desirable.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I couldn’t agree more. It’s the rough, ‘ugly’, run-down that I find most fascinating to document. I am herewith promising not to ever offend you! However, I hope you forgive me for the one or two pictures of my cats that I posted sometime back;) They are cute.

Same question can be asked about my country.

Oh yes, I know. I wish all the best for the people of the Philippines, including the necessary strength and perseverance needed to rebuild their homes and infrastructure! I have made quite a few friends from your country over the years and I have always been struck by their optimism and sense of community. Two qualities that will certainly help with recovering from the effects of last year’s terrible storm. A very happy and hopefully better 2014 to you and your loved ones as well! Yours Canary

Every next year is better in Africa. It works for few thousand years, I believe 😉
